Bellglass Charm

A cracked bronze bell charm whose sea-glass clapper wards fear and can silence an ordinary bell at a critical moment.

Properties

Wondrous item, uncommon. No attunement is required. Once per long rest, the wearer has advantage on one saving throw against being frightened. Once per dawn as an action, the wearer chooses one nonmagical bell or gong within 60 feet; that object makes no sound for one minute.

Lore

Blackwater families wore these charms when fog hid the harbor beacons. A cloudy clapper means someone nearby has heard the Drowned Bell.

Game Master guidance

The silence affects only the chosen object and does not create magical silence around it. The fear benefit is declared before the saving throw. The item is useful but never required in later saga entries.

Related use

The item is designed as a memorable reward rather than a requirement for later play. A party without it can solve every related scene with the listed checks, tools, spells, or environmental choices.
