Properties
Wondrous item, rare, requires attunement. While wearing the cape, a creature can use a reaction when falling to glide up to 60 feet horizontally and descend no more than 20 feet before the end of its turn. Once per dawn, when pushed or pulled, the wearer may instead fly the same distance in any direction without provoking opportunity attacks.
Lore
Orun weaves each cape from cloud-silk dried across a calm weather beacon. The silver reeds hum one breath before a dangerous gust.
Game Master guidance
The cape cannot gain altitude during an ordinary glide and does not provide a standing fly speed. If the wearer has no open destination, normal forced movement applies.
Related use
The item is designed as a memorable reward rather than a requirement for later play. A party without it can solve every related scene with the listed checks, tools, spells, or environmental choices.
