I'm a big fan of thinking up a situation, tossing at the players and winging what happens. Whether the situation in question is (for example) Eternal Night, Attack of the Gnoll Children or whatever, they key is it improvise and bounce off the players, right as the game happens. It's one heck of a buzz, and sure beats (for me) doing tons of pre-prep which just gets dumped when the players turn left instead of right. But hey, what do I know? :D Sounds good so far.
